RACING MOUNT CODY: If nose tackle Terrence Cody wants to be handed the football on the goal line, he needs to win a foot race against Saban.
Asked if Cody would get the ball near the goal line, Saban said he races Cody between fields for the final portion of practice every day.
"When he can beat me, we'll consider giving him the ball on the goal line," Saban said. "I figure the prerequisite for it is he needs to outrun me."
I don't know which I'd rather see: Cody getting a carry on the goal line to punch it in or watching him and Saban race after practice. The race would be very exciting to watch.

and from what i've read, supposedly cody still has to lose a few more pounds before he's allowed to stay in on 3rd downs, right?
ReplyDeletethis guy is fun to watch. i also think it helps us see how much faith opposing teams have -- in other words, how much they're able to move this particular mountain... :)
